DESCRIPTION
INTRO
Listen up, degenerates. Nobody dreams about owning a Chrysler Sebring. But here's the thing — a coupe with four seats and four wheels for less than the price of a used motorcycle? That's not a dream, that's a deal. The Sebring was Chrysler's attempt to bring motoring to the masses, and in '01 it was a best-seller. It's got the Cab Forward design language that made '90s Chrysler products look space-age, and it's got enough room inside to actually be useful. This one's sitting in the boneyard, waiting for a savior or a scrapper.
EXTERIOR
The silver paint is peeling like a bad sunburn after a weekend in Vegas. The clear coat is giving up the ghost on the hood, roof, and trunk lid. The body panels look relatively straight, but don't expect perfection here. The headlights are fogged over, and the trim is showing its age. It's a 2001 Chrysler, what did you expect?
INTERIOR
The gray leather interior has seen better days, but it's still hanging in there. The driver's seat shows some wear, and the dash is intact. The steering wheel is there, but the lower dash panel is missing, exposing some wiring. It's got a manual transmission, which is a rare find in these parts. The back seats look like they've barely been used, probably because nobody wants to ride in the back of a Sebring.
UNDERCARRIAGE
We didn't get a look underneath, so assume the worst and hope for the best. It's been sitting in a yard, so expect some surface rust and crusty components. The suspension and brakes are a mystery, so bring a trailer and a prayer.
ENGINE
No engine shots were provided, but the VIN tag says it was built by Mitsubishi Motor Mfg. of America. These LXi coupes came with a 3.0L V6, which was a decent mill back in the day. Whether it runs or not is anyone's guess. It's a roll of the dice, folks.
