DESCRIPTION
OVERVIEW
This 1986 Dodge 600 ES Turbo Convertible is a pure-blooded survivor of the K-car era, a silver-skinned artifact of Chrysler’s mid-80s ambition. It’s a 100% original, one-family-adjacent time capsule that found its way out of a private collection following the passing of the original owner. With a mere 75,000 miles on the clock, this isn't just a project; it's a testament to a bygone decade. It comes with a Colorado title and a stack of potential, sitting ready for someone with the guts to breathe fire back into its 2.2-liter lungs.
EXTERIOR
The silver paint wears the scars of time, with the kind of fading and clear coat peeling that tells a story of long days under the sun. While there are a few honest dings and the early inklings of surface rust, the body remains impressively stout. The black convertible top has seen better days, which is exactly why the next pilot gets a brand-new, uninstalled top to replace it. Those iconic 15-inch "pizza" wheels are wrapped in fresh, brand-new rubber, ready to hit the asphalt as soon as you are.
INTERIOR
The cockpit is a classic tale of heartbreak and hope. The rear seat suffered through some harsh exposure when the old top gave out, leading to the current upholstery fatigue, but the structure remains solid. The dashboard and woodgrain-trimmed panels are all present and accounted for; they just need a little TLC, some fresh door hinge pins, and a set of door panel clips to tighten up the fit. With some attention to the upholstery and hardware, this cabin will be singing the gospel of the 80s once again.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Forget your nightmares about rot; this K-car has lived a clean life. Despite some expected surface oxidation on the exhaust and suspension, the floors are solid—inside and out. The chassis is honest, sturdy, and entirely devoid of the structural rust that kills lesser machines. It’s a clean slate for a mechanic who knows their way around a wrench.
ENGINE
Under the hood, the 2.2-liter turbocharged heart has been treated to a fresh tune-up and is officially breathing again. It’s mated to a 3-speed automatic that’s recently enjoyed a fresh fluid and filter change, paired with a new fuel pump and sending unit to keep the fire stoked. While it runs and drives, you’ll want to address a slight leak in the power steering pump and the rack and pinion to get it road-ready. It’s a complete, original setup with good brakes—just waiting for a driver who understands that true power comes from a little bit of grease and a lot of vision.
Running Condition: Runs and drives
