DESCRIPTION
INTRO
Listen up, sinners. The C10 Step-side is the pickup truck that every hot-rodder secretly wants in their garage. With those exposed rear fenders and that narrow bed, it's got more personality than any modern truck on the road. This '63 is a first-gen C10 — the transitional year between the Apache era and the second-gen body — making her a bit of a unicorn in the Chevy truck world. Sitting out in the Albuquerque sun, she's wearing her age the way a good truck should: honestly. No shine, no polish, just steel and decades of stories.
EXTERIOR
This rig is wearing a faded red primer coat topped off with some old-school custom flames on the hood. It's got that perfect, unforced patina that guys pay thousands to fake. The body looks relatively straight for a workhorse, but expect the usual bumps and bruises of a 60-year-old truck. The glass appears intact, though the driver's side window is rolled down or missing. The chrome is mostly gone, replaced by a blacked-out front bumper and a tow strap that hints at its current project status.
INTERIOR
Peeking through the glass, you can spot a white or light-colored bench seat that looks like it's seen better days. The dash is painted to match the exterior, keeping that utilitarian vibe alive. There's a steering wheel in there, but don't expect any modern luxuries. It's a bare-bones cabin waiting for someone to either embrace the rat-rod aesthetic or tear it down for a full restoration.
UNDERCARRIAGE
We don't have any shots of the belly of this beast, so you're flying blind on the frame and floor pans. Given its sun-baked location, you might get lucky with minimal rot, but always expect the worst when dealing with old iron. The suspension looks like it might have been lowered a touch, giving it a slightly aggressive stance on those aftermarket wheels.
ENGINE
The hood is shut tight, and we have no idea what's lurking underneath. It could be the original inline-six, a swapped small-block V8, or just a family of very surprised raccoons. Assume it needs a full mechanical overhaul unless you're feeling lucky. The tow strap on the front bumper strongly suggests she ain't moving under her own power right now.
MODIFICATIONS
The most obvious mods are the custom flame paint job on the hood and those aftermarket alloy wheels that look like they belong on an 80s sports car. It also appears to have a lowered stance, hinting at some suspension work. The blacked-out front bumper is another custom touch, moving away from the factory chrome look.
