DESCRIPTION
INTRO
Let me tell you something about this ’37 Dodge Brothers sedan. She’s been sitting out here at 5228 Edith Boulevard, soaking up the Albuquerque heat, listening to the coyotes, and surviving a half-dozen of Anthony’s terrible jokes while he pretends to guard the yard. This isn't a car; it's an archaeological dig. You look at that heavy, sweeping steel and you can practically smell the unfiltered cigarettes and cheap pomade from a time when cars were built like bank vaults.
EXTERIOR
The body is a canvas of pure, unadulterated patina. We're talking faded green paint fighting a losing battle against decades of surface rust, creating a look you couldn't replicate with a thousand-dollar paint job. The iconic Dodge Brothers winged badge is still hanging on, a testament to pre-war pride. The glass is mostly gone or shattered, and the chrome trim is pitted and tired, but the heavy steel fenders and suicide doors still hold that unmistakable 1930s swagger.
INTERIOR
Step inside, and you're stepping into a hollowed-out cavern of automotive history. The seats are stripped down to the bare springs, looking more like a torture device than a place to rest your bones. The dashboard is a rusty slab of metal with a few lonely gauges and a steering wheel that's seen better days. The floorboards and door panels are stripped bare, waiting for someone with a vision and a whole lot of elbow grease to bring them back to life.
UNDERCARRIAGE
We didn't get a good look underneath, but given the state of the rest of the car, expect a healthy dose of surface rust and crusty components. The frame is likely solid, as these old Dodges were built tough, but you'll want to plan on a full inspection and overhaul of the suspension, brakes, and exhaust. This is a true project, and the underbelly will need just as much love as the top side.
ENGINE
The engine bay is a mystery wrapped in a rusty enigma. We can't see what's under the hood, but there's a manual shifter poking through the floorboards, hinting at a three-speed transmission. Whether the original flathead six is still in there or if it's an empty cavern waiting for a modern V8 swap is anyone's guess. Assume it needs everything, from wiring to fluids, and you won't be disappointed.
