THE GHOST'S TAKE

Listen to the wind howl through the boneyard. What we’ve dragged into the light today is a survivor from the era when safety mandates killed the spinner. Back in '67, the feds decided those knee-capper knock-offs were too dangerous for pedestrians, so Chevy swapped 'em out for these smooth, conical 'Chevrolet Motor Division' center caps. This simulated wire wheel cover (RPO N96) likely rolled off the line on a '67 or '68 Chevelle, Camaro, or maybe a Nova. It’s a heavy piece of Detroit history—stainless steel outer rim, straight chrome spokes, and that black painted backdrop to give it depth. Condition-wise, she’s a solid driver. You’ve got some curb rash and scuffs around the outer lip from decades of parallel parking, but the spokes are straight and the center cone still shines. It ain't perfect, but it's got soul. Measure your steelies before you mount up.
