INTRO

Wipe the grease off your hands and pay attention. What you’re staring at is a 1937 Ford 2-door humpback that's been living hard out here on Toby's 13-acre boneyard. The body is pure classic American iron, but that's where the factory specs end. She's been gutted, caged, and sprayed in a purple and orange livery that probably looked real mean going completely sideways at 70mph under the Saturday night stadium lights. The doors proudly display "North 54 Salvage" with a checkered flag trim, and the trunk lid features a cracked, sun-baked decal of Mater from Cars. This ain't a Sunday cruiser; it's a retired dirt track warrior looking for a new lease on life or a final resting place.

EXTERIOR

The exterior is a wild mix of vintage sheet metal and backyard engineering. It's wearing a custom purple and orange paint job that's seen better days, complete with hand-painted salvage yard logos and checkered flag accents. The front end features a custom expanded metal grille and a heavy-duty tubular bumper designed for contact. The fenders are heavily modified or fiberglass replacements, and the headlights are long gone, leaving empty sockets. There's plenty of patina, dents, and rust spots, especially around the rear where the Mater decal is peeling away. The glass is completely missing, replaced by the open air of the track.

INTERIOR

Step inside, and you'll find a purpose-built cockpit that's as bare-bones as it gets. The interior has been completely gutted and fitted with a full purple roll cage. You've got two racing seats—one Kirkey and one custom aluminum bucket—both equipped with faded purple Crow Enterprises racing harnesses. The dashboard is a custom flat panel with a few essential gauges and a wrapped steering wheel that looks like it's seen a thousand left turns. The floor pans are rusty and exposed, showing the scars of its racing history. There are no door panels, no headliner, and no comfort to be found here.

UNDERCARRIAGE

While we don't have a clear shot of the undercarriage, it's safe to assume it's as modified and battle-scarred as the rest of the car. It's sitting on wide Hoosier racing tires wrapped around orange steel wheels, hinting at a suspension setup meant for the dirt track. Expect a custom or heavily reinforced frame, likely with a solid rear axle and modified front suspension to handle the rigors of circle track racing. Brakes and exhaust are unknown, but they were likely built for performance rather than street legality.

ENGINE

Pop the hood—or what's left of it—and you'll find a whole lot of nothing. The engine bay is completely empty, save for some lingering wiring and the steering shaft. The engine and transmission have been pulled, leaving this old Ford as a rolling chassis. Whatever powerplant used to propel this beast around the track is long gone, meaning you've got a blank canvas to drop in whatever V8 your heart desires. The drivetrain is incomplete, making this a true project or parts car.

MODIFICATIONS

This '37 Ford is more modification than original car at this point. It features a full custom roll cage, racing seats with harnesses, and a custom dashboard. The exterior boasts a custom grille, tubular front bumper, and modified fenders to accommodate the wide racing tires. The paint and decals are entirely custom, reflecting its life as a promotional and racing vehicle for North 54 Salvage. It's a purpose-built machine that's far removed from its factory origins.
