THE GHOST'S TAKE

Pulled from the dust of '59, this piece of Pontiac history survived the wide-track revolution. Stamped with 'PONTIAC MOTOR DIVISION' right on the nose, this 14-inch full wheel cover rode low and heavy on the Bonnevilles, Catalinas, and Star Chiefs of the era. It is a heavy slab of Detroit stainless from back when cars looked like they were breaking the sound barrier while parked at the diner. Condition-wise, she is a solid survivor. The stainless still holds a mean shine, though you might find the ghost of a few road scars if you run your thumb over the edges. The factory paint in the ribs has mostly surrendered to time, leaving a clean, bare-metal look. It is a righteous piece for a daily driver or a rat rod needing some authentic late-fifties Pontiac attitude. Slap it on a steelie and let it roll.
